Hacking Yet another DSFTP Help topic

Hi! I am wondering what's wrong with my DSFTP config file. I used exactly the same model as the one at dsftp's official site, and i still get a "syntax error on line 1" error.

motd /data/settings/motd.txt
logfile /data/logs/ftp.log
loglevel 5
timeout 15
transferblocksize 4096

screensaver 60
wakeonlog true

user nam
ÂÂÂÂpass whatever
ÂÂÂÂroot /
ÂÂÂÂhome /
ÂÂÂÂwrite true
ÂÂÂÂboot true

ÂÂÂÂroot /public
ÂÂÂÂwrite false
end user

So, what's wrong with that ?
motd /ftp/motd gives the same error, by the way.
