- Shimmering Forte in the jungle (Eks watering hole, on a hot day) : Yeah, I went on hot days a lot of times, trying different hours too.
I can't find that one either... and Im sure that've never killed it before getting the quest.

In fact... Im I recall correctly, that quest is given by the noppons that are at the beggining of the map (before the bridge)
The hot day time I think is around 12 pm to 3 pm , you'll know its hot because the screen will havea slight haze to it . Like the way black top heats up , thats the only way I can descibe it , I hadda google to find that one out.

I know how to detect the hot day, I tried 10AM to 5PM, but never met him.
It's like gwynry, I guess it's really random.

I'll try more between 12-3PM then. Thanks.

@Cyan, let me know if you ever get him to respawn and what it took to do it. It's driving me nuts. I'm to the point of wanting to hack my savegame to get him back so I can complete the quest, but I haven't cheated on this game and I don't want to, but that wouldn't be cheating if he is one that does not respawn.

To get unique monsters to respawn save near where they appear, and reload the game 3-4 times. It works though I'm not sure why you have to load game multiple times.

It does not work with this unique monster. I have tried many many times in many different ways. I'd love to be proven wrong, by evidence of a video, so I can know that I can finally complete this mission, but I have literally already spent over 6 hours trying, and that should be way more than enough for a respawn.

It was to the point that my wife said "are you ever going to give up? Will you finally give up if I give you sex?"... and I said "No".

hahaha, talking like a true gamer :D
Damn women always try to distract us :(

Are you talking about the unique monster in erm... wtf ive forgotten the name... "the nopon woods", near the waterhole?

The better way to detect if it's a hot day is to not see, but listen. If you do NOT hear birds chirping, it's a hot day.

All uniques respawn, unless they're quest dependent. The best way to do it is to go where they are, save, then if reload the save. This works great for collectables too (though for those, you have to wait a minute for them to appear).

we are talking about three monsters:

- Wallslide Gwynry at magmell in tephra's cave
- Shimmering Forte in the jungle
- Veteran Yozel, at silent obelisk in satorl

After reloading the maps many many times, I've only managed to make other unique monsters re-spawn, but not these ones.
If i meet them, I'll take a screen :D

EDIT 1:
I found Forte !!
he's not in the lake at all.
He is on the road from the lake to the Nopon's tree.

Well, now let's go to Tephra. I think this is a good day to meet Gwynry :D

Edit 2 : Found Gwynry ! (Lv9 aha!)
She's in the ship.
I saved and reloaded 3-4 times.

I remember I killed an unique monster at this place the first time I went in the ship. I didn't have the quest yet. I never meet her again until now.

For the two monsters, I wasn't looking at the right place, so I'll cover a bigger area for the last one.
I hope it will be a good day to meet Yozel now ;)

nope, I didn't find him.

Now I have another quest in Satorl, I have to kill Daulton near the ruin of Soter (which is not on the map...).

I have 4 quests left in my list, and I still have only 4 stars for Colony6, so I guess I'll find more quest later.
I'm still missing Riki's and Sharla's column skills to unlock.

Wow, Im sorry but HOW can you have missed gwynry before?

That dude ganked me around 10 times the first times I was in the cave (in the very low levels lol)... Ok not ganked as in "killed me", ganked as popping out of nowhere and backstabbing us.

Gwynry did the same thing to me like for or five times when I was trying to kill that group of 5 lizards right there. When I finally had a high enough level I went and killed the little bitch but I still had not seen him again.

YAY!! I finally got wallslide gwynry and killed the bastard with one hit.
Now if only I can find another one of those forget-you-not's. Those things has been the most elusive bitch to me in this game.

Kinda messed up. I just watched a video of someone who was level 67 beat gadolt, but I am 71 and I am still having a hard time. this is BS. I guess I have to adjust my equipped crystals.

I didn't have any difficulty with Gadolt, but I was 75 or 76.
I leveled up a lot just to be able to beat the Lv70 unique monster Gremory.

Edit:
I think I'm wrong, Gremory was Lv60, and I was more between Lv65-70
I have a save file at lv71 after the Mekonis chapter. (trying not to spoil anything to Deadlyfoez).

Damn, that one was hard.
After Gremory, Gadolt was easy (and the bosses after that too).

I never equipped special gems to prevent dopple or bad status ailments.
Only better HP/power/Ether/elemental attacks. that's all.

If you want to level up quickly, you could try to go back to the leg. The godrills (apes) should be hard but doable.
flamy too, they are Lv~70

Godrills give a loooot of exp (more than those damns mecha which I killed for few days x__x)

At lv70-80 you can then go to the Apes in the swamp. 30 000 exp each :D
This is the first Red enemy I could kill with a "+5 level differences" trophy unlocked.

Sounds like you're talking about the Gogols, guess they're translated differently for some reason, even though the name could've been used for both translations(maybe I don't know french).
On a side note, I got Dunban's War Scythe(?) there and decided to use it because it was stronger than my Mechonis weapons, I forgot to take it off when I went back to the Mechon filled places and for the Gadolt boss fight, cue me scrambling for a topple.

If i recall correctly, I was 65 or 66 when I pwnd Gadolt. No issues whatsoever.
I couldnt kill the UM with the spike defence (In mechonis capital) though. Sharla couldnt keep up so I couldnt get the monado arts to activate often enough :(

Gogols ?

In french the apes are named Gorille (Gorilla in english), so they sound very similar, they could have used "Godril" which sound like the real name for all languages.

Or maybe there are both gogol and grodrill ?

What have you guys found to be the best character combos? I've been sticking Shulk, Sharla, and Reyn, but that combo just isn't cutting it anymore on some of these higher level bosses. I'm stuck at Egil and I'm lv72.
edit: IDK wtf happened there. That was strange.

Reyn, Shulk and Sharla was the only combo that worked for me. Once I started outlevel stuff I went with Dunban, Fiora and Sharla.

"gogol" is a French insult, maybe they removed it for that purpose.
Well that sorta explains it, they could've still called it Godrill in english though.

I use Dunban, Melia, Fiora, not much healing.. but you won't need it, if you build up Dunban and Fiora as dodging demons, Melia's always fragile no matter what you do so you just gotta keep aggro off her. Actually if I remember right I skill linked certain skills so I could heal with Burst Affinities and critical hits.
