I just hope that it's not like Fire Emblem Echoes where they cut part of the game out and put it as paid dlc.
Where's the proof of what you're saying? Because the base game is fine as it is and more. The DLC is all optional. The prequel DLC is just extra story and extra challenges with set units which is quite worth it.

Any similarities to Xenoblade X guys? (I don't want to watch any videos and spoil it for myself)
Xenoblade Chronicles X was more of a spin off of this series so they do share a ton of mechanics in common. You should feel pretty at home with the combat and exploration if you enjoyed X.

I personally think it will be more similar to Chronicles X (in terms of exploration, how you play it and how the story progresses) but have that Chronicles touch to it

The only thing I'm really going to miss is the social and multiplayer aspects of X. I was hoping they would really go all out and bolster those features in this one instead of leaving them out. This game is begging to be a cooperative experience IMO.

Agreed, I´d love to play Xenoblade with my friends

It was cut out and released as Day 1 dlc.

Do not mind paying for dlc as long as it is worth paying for if you read the small print from the direct then it says it might actually contain more dlc then listed...

Jay rpg has made somewhat of a decent Q&A. He could not answer everything because of the review embargo but still he manages to be quite helpful.
