I used TecnoMoon's WiiVC Injector to turn WBFS files to WUP files. I transfer them to my HDD through WUP Installer GX2. Most files are fine. But 8 of them install as Gray Icons with a ?. Their names are all ???. Even under Data Management they are Gray with ??? and listed as software. Trying to launch one of these games gets me an error message claiming There's an error in the software's data. Yet all files came from the same place, and the rest worked fine. I even reconverted them in case there was a problem, but those 8 games still fail:
M&M's Adventure
M&M Kart Racing
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
Sam & Max - Beyond Time and Space
Sam & Max - Season One
Wacky Races - Crash & Dash

Remove the ampersand from the title name of your games and any other special characters such as the dash as they are not supported unfortunately.

Then try injecting again. You can remove the faulty installs from data management as per normal procedure in system settings.

True. That may be the issue. It happened to me too, when I've tried to install games with special characters in the game title, but then I've changed the games' names and all worked well in the end. :)

I had some that installed, others that didn't. I don't know what is the algorithm used here.

I know the question mark error. it can either be the meta.xml or one of the icons that's not 100% correct. the game is unbootable then too. definitely don't try it with cbhc if you want to change the name or something.

the & may be allowed with wup. the only time I've encountered something that wouldn't install, it was with pokken or pokemon coliseum iirc. both had a trademark icon in the name.

I encountered the question mark error when I tried injecting my own icon into a game. it had the wrong dimensions and save settings I believe. I figured out the right settings for all four icon and screens and posted them on psx place several years ago (first post):

I had that issue too, but was easily fixed. :)

Yeah, the TM symbol was definitely one of them. I remember having to remove it from "The Amazing Spider-Man™" in order to make it work.
