Would it be possible to design a new app that would connect to an internet time server and sync the wii's time and date with the servers? It could help people who play gamecube games on the wii because the wii's hardware shuts down when playing gamecube games or something like that.
Any thoughts?

There's another prob: what if you are in another timezone? The time won't be correct unless you can build in a way to correct it. (Won't be too hard i guess)

Why all the hate? OK, so maybe it's not needed while playing GC games, but an NTP client is a perfectly decent idea for keeping your Wii clock in sync, and such things cope fine with different timezones. Personally I would prefer it to be part of a cSM or the HBC rather than a separate app, as it's the sort of thing that you wouldn't want to have to bother running manually.
