I missed out on the PS2 era, though I did play my friend's ps2 a bit. But he usually had sports/racing games.

I'd like to get a used ps2 with the full intent to download and play pirated games. No bull there!

But, my university has this omega lockdown on torrents. You're lucky to get 1.3 KB/S going.

But newsgroups are full-forced. 600 KB/S.
I can use newsgroups.

But, without the use of torrents, would newsgroups be a viable method?
I mean with older games?

PSX and PS2 is teh best concole of all time, not even PS3 and XBOX360 both combined can manage to outwit those monsters, all the best titles (for example, Tomba! for PSX and Okami for PS2) is there.

The PlayStation 2 has an expansive library, and is still getting new games today. It will pay off.

JUst did a quick search on Merlins-portal.net (great nzb resource) and there seems to be alot of ps2 games still being uploaded. Strangely enough they are all coming from various alt.bin. channels. alt.binaries.boneless seems to be the most popular. If you already have access to Usenet, searching "playstation" in group search, Alt.binaries.cdimages.playstation2.iso seems rather popular.

Good luck!
