Hacking Wood R4 freezes

I'm wondering why does some games freezes when I boot them from wood r4.

I'm using mars ds (r4 clone) with ysmenu since 2007 and both of em don't crash nor freeze at all. Then i've heard of this wood r4 and tried it. i can use the firmware flawlessly but whenever i try to play games, it freezes. gta:cw runs smoothly but new super mario bros freezes at the nintendo screen. worst, i can't play any game other than gta:cw. is it just the setting or my cart's problem?

I love wood r4 for it's functions. (i.e. copy/paste) and the GUI is great.

Wood R4 works only on 1:1 clones or original R4's. So I think your Mars DS is not a 1:1 clone.

I see. so it's normal that i can use the firmware but not play games with it?

Xenon++ has stripped the GUI out from Wood so you can use it on any cart and existing firmware. I believe it's called WAIO, you'll have to search for his thread.
