I would assume most people that have pre ordered have 2 switches or don't use online. I'm in the latter. With the titles I play on the switch (Mario, Zelda, Kirby, snipperclips etc.) Online plays no role. If you're worried about online do not pre order and wait for feedback is the only advice you should take, everything else is speculative.

Yep, no One knows, however with the time they had and they probably cared more to run games, I bet atmosphere will be more stealthy than TX and then being open sourced, if anyone find a way to be stealthier they will keep patching with new info they learn.

While with TX, you can really only count with their own private team, atmosphere most likely will have a huge number of ppl working on even different beta versions from different communities, at least I hope...

Even though there's gonna always be that ban risk, I feel like Nintendo is just gonna play a cat-and-mouse game of making their Switch more stable while TX (and maybe ReSwitched) update their respective CFWs

that was literally just a modified devmenu to work on retail devices, I don't think you can really count it as something that was created by the scene.

All im saying is that once someone like tx releases their backup loader I'm hoping similar to how gw was able to load dev menu we will be able to install games and build on the dev loader

I preordered the TX SX Pro, but I'm gonna hold off using backups until it either appears safe, or we end up in another Sky3DS situation where we must rip and inject our own headers into our backups. Homebrew apps like Checkpoint will be used though, and very handy.

Thanks for the info everyone, guess we'll see what happens when the floodgates are opened.

So don't go online? Why are people who do these things so shocked and aghast when they get banned online?

What part of my OP made you feel as though I would be "shocked and aghast" to be banned online for pirating games?

Not this thread per se, but a lot of people are going to post threads when they do and wonder why

If you just need Checkpoint, then there's no need for TX. Might just cancel the order as it won't go anywhere. And if it's proof problematic after all, you won't have to buy it. You got nothing to lose here.

Airplane mode will be your best friend! Also, don't be logged in to your NNID if you got two consoles. One should be plain pirate and one virgin.

The USB C payload+CFW is worth it to me not having to setup a phone every time. I'm paying for convenience, and I know it.

Aside from not using CFW at all, my gut also tells me that Atmosphere is the safer choice.

You don't need a backup loader with Atmosphere. All you'll really need is a tool to install apps to the home menu, and that will be made within days.

And installing the game as an app is safer how ?
If anything accessing a game via a method N didn't intended would be easier to detect.

Outside of the hate for TX, I dont get some of the user's on this site's thinking that Atmosphere will be inherently safe / safer than TX's CFW.

At this time we don't know and anything different than that is speculation.

My gut tells me TX is rushing their product because they have a very narrow window of economic viability, so I don't think they're making their CFW with as much care as the Atmosphere team.
