So my chinese relative bought a second hand PC and he asked me to put Windows XP on it. No problem I thought. Then he asked me it would be great if the whole of Windows could be in chinese ie, so icons like My Documents, my computer, error messages and everything everything in general really. So far, all I found on google are guides on how to make the PC display chinese text in web browsers and inputting in chinese but nothing about converting Windows XP into chinese viewable mode. Does that mean I have to download a chinese Windows XP?

Multilingual User Interface CDs would be the solution... if you use an English Windows XP Professional. Home Edition won't work.
Those CDs should be available to students through MSDN Academic Alliance and maybe OEM...
