Windows snap screen problem

For some reason, the screen snaps instead of sliding to a new desktop. The Windows for programs also don't close by fading away. This problem only seems to occur on my Windows account, but if I switch to another user, it works just fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

You probably have unabled the option to show animations or something like that.
Go to Control Panel, then System, then Advanced Settings and then Performance Configuration.
Enable Animations.

They were already on in the first place. They just stopped working all of a sudden.
