OP
I decided to mod my switch and ordered a jig from amazon, but I had a question. I plan to have a emunand set up and a clean sysnand which I want to switch anytime, depending on what I want to do. If the switch gets a new update (on the clean sysnand) how would updating affect it ? Would the HB be wiped ? Would I have to use the jig and redo the exploit ? If the update is safe then can I update and the emunand would work just fine ? (Side Question, but does doing HB for the first time on the switch wipe the storage in general ?)

Your emunand resides on your SD card, nothing you do on it affects sysnand and vices versa. Remember to make a backup of your clean sysnand before any cfw.

"installing" hombrew does not wipe your storage. But you might need to format your microsd to make it work with emunand if you're using partitions.
