Are there any emulators available for the kernal exploit instead of the vWii? All I see is vWii emulators.

Kindasortamaybe? There's LiteNESU and some Game Boy Color emulator if I recall correctly. Past that development has kind of been a little stagnant

Only time will tell. The WiiU homebrew scene is still very young, so it's just a matter of motivation to develop stuff on it.

With the homebrew launcher, it's becoming more accessible, so who knows when we get an emulator fully working

There are emulators but they are mainly for devs and people to mess with. They don't have good compatibility and some don't have graphical interfaces.
