anyone know if new version has USB 2.0 support?

It doesnt.

I'm really disapointed by this new version.
I still prefer the last one. Sure the sounds plugins are better so it sounds perfect, but some games were playable in beta 1 like Crash team racing (i would say, more playable... now it just doesnt work) i can't control anything in crash bandicoot "wtf" same thing for medal of honor with the classic controller, but the Gamecube controller works for that game.

Oh i code dump in Driver after 2 minutes of gameplay.

Do you use Bios?

Castlevania does not works (no bios) and metal gear,
just found out about wiisx beta 2 today so i would like to know the same if bios are needed since i never got the first beta to work also if this doesn't support usb ,this isn't that great for me because i don't even have enough memory on my sd.i know i seen in the video select bios but i would assume its somehow built-in.also really please don't tell me the usb part is only good for saves.

my tests:

spyro the dragon: plays well if frame skip ON in dynatec however music goes off once you rescue any dragon on the level

spyro the dragon 2: plays well if frame skip ON in dynatec however music songs play at random and than later on just vanish

spyro 3: plays well if frame skip ON in dynatec still slow though on later levels.

gex: unplayable just keeps playing videos you don't even get to the title screen!

gex 3: you fall through the stage can't play

sigh they still got a long way to go yet to perfecting this...

DIGIMON RUMBLE ARENA it's not working
it's stop on "data not found"

well after experimenting with a list of games all running from a usb hdd and using the playstation bios here are some reults i have had

Castlevania:Chronicles-Freezes after the title screen
Castlevania-Symphony Of The Night-Runs extremely well, although the sound is very choppy
Chrono Cross-Ran great for me
Final Fantasy 7-Froze on the first battle
Final Fantasy 8-The Fmv play very slowy then the game hung on the name entry
Final Fantasy 9-code dump
Gran Tusismo 2-code dump
Mega Man Legends 2-Hangs after the capcom logo
Mega Man X5-Plays the intro video and hangs while trying to load the first level
Metal Gear Solid-The game hangs after trying to start a new game
Mortal Kombat Trilogy-Unresponsive controls and the game appears to run very slow
Parappa The Rapper-Music can be heard but the screen remains black
Persona-The game appears to lock up at the intro to the game
Persona 2-Eternal Punishment-FMV played very slow and in game appeared to run at a good speed until the game faded to black
Persona 2-Innocent Sin-Ran very smooth until it locked up at the start of the game
Policenauts-Some messed up graphics and unresponive controls, runs at a good speed though

I never thought it would even get as good as it is now much less better.

As long as development continues it could end up being perfect someday, I mean just look back on how terrible PSX emulators used to be on a PC!

My results, could never get Final Fantasy Tactics to even load, and for King's Field after the first opening screen it freezes. Guess I'll just hook my computer up to my tv with a 360 remote, that should do the trick instead.

ive tried alot of PSX RPGs since that's what i mainly play and couldn't get any of them working really. none of the final fantasy, or xenogears.

For FF9, I loaded up a save that was in Memoria, and was able to run around and go in and out of battle just fine. It might just be the FMV's that make it hang.

WiiSX beta USB2 support MOD

Now it's unofficialy support LOL
Ah, thank you very much for the USB2 mod
smile.gif
. Fixes some problems caused by slow load speeds with USB1.1

Does this emu support NTFS partitions? I'm assuming it doesn't since it didn't recognized the wiisx\isos\ folder in my HDD... Or maybe I did something wrong..
blink.gif
afaik it only supports fat32 usb partitions. Perhaps someone might mod it but I don't think there's going to be ntfs support in official builds.

So I've been able to test a few games:
Diablo - runs perfectly. Classic controller messes up if it's initially in port 1. Use gamecube controller for port 1 and then switch to classic controller after starting up
Twisted Metal 3 - runs great! No background music playing. Weird sounds in main menu. Classic controller is always messed up and game isn't playable with gamecube controller button mapping
Brave Fencer Musashi - runs perfect! classic controller is always messed up and gamecube controller y axis on joystick is inverted for some reason. Set it to inverted in menu and it can be played fine.

There seems to be some serious problems with classic controller support. It could be that I'm using classic controller pro though...

nfl blitz - plays but no character graphics (only shadows but it is playable and at a decent speed)

mortal kombat 3, 4, and trilogy - did not boot, but after reading i might try again with gc controller, i was trying with classic, may be that caused some issues. it locks up as soon as you hit run game. reset button unlocks and resumes normal program.

doom - crashes after williams logo, goes to doom information screen when using interpreter.

i hope they keep working on this, it could get really good. i would like to be able to play beatmania on my wii.

I see people already started to test games and reported which works and which doesn't.

Just want you to know that the game region has something to do with the game compatibility.
For example, Wipeout PAL was working but Wipeout NTSC-U wasn't on WiiSX Beta 1.

So, please, specify either the region, or the game ID.
if you don't know the game ID, you can refer to http://www.sonyindex.com

Edit :
I created the compatibility list page on Wiki, Please use the
WiiSX_compatibility_list_(beta_2)

I kept beta 1 intact as some users said some games worked better on Beta 1, so we can always refer to the old page.
(please don't edit the wrong one)

edit 2 :
Though, there's also a compatibility list on wiibrew, with more information, but less games.

Edit 3 :
who made the USB2.0 mod ?

please post the changes, and a name would be great so I can add it to wiki.

Castlevania SOTN, Suikoden 1 & 2, Vandal Hearts 1 & 2..... wouldn't recognise any controller, though I read someone else got SOTN working.... maybe that's my fault fiddling with the GC button configs (otherwise what bit I've seen looks good)
FF7 & 8, again crash entering battle, but up to that point they both look and sound fantastic - I'm suitably impressed!
FF9 - failed to load iso
Chrono Cross - couldn't get my character to move! ?? Maybe config messing to blame there
Grandia - perfect startup, wonderful intro...code dump as soon as it finishes! Dang!
Wipeout XL - Code dump at the menu screen
Rayman & Parappa same as mentioned before
Xenogears just froze the emu when I tried to start...
Street Fighter EX2 - 3D graphics slow on intro, rest looks fine, but just rolls back to the menu when you try to play...
Pocket Fighter & SF Alpha 2 Gold (both NTSC-US) - Black screen
SF Alpha 3 - Can't get past the memory card reading screen....
RR Type 4 Bonus Disc - code dump after Namco screen
Ape Escape - Wants a dual shock plugged in to port 1, won't let me past the screen
Jumping Flash - Black Screen

.....think that's it from what I tried..... basically, nothing I tried playable at all lol, but I'm far more impressed with this than with beta1, probably because what bit I've seen looks and sounds much better..... hopefully there's a quick fix for controller support/mappings, plus the memory card fix, because I suspect we could get quite a few games playing really well using this....

EDIT: Just been noseying around further while I can't get on the telly (kids r playing on the 360 arrgghh) - looks like the modded one maybe fixes classic controller support (this would be fantastic if true!), plus it seems a good idea to actually use the BIOS (which I didn't lol) Aside from the obvious FF7/8 etc, disregard what I said, I only chucked each one on for a couple of minutes and will have a bigger tinker later
wink.gif

few more i tried out

still loading with the bios and from usb on the original release of this emu

did try adding these entrys to the wiki but i couldnt get it to work

Ridge Racer Type 4-NTSC-Tried with both cores, game loads up but plays very slowly with no music

Silent Hill-NTSC-Game loads fine with dynarec but the menus and fmvs are slow, when it game it runs faster than normal and randomly freezes

Soul Blade-PAL-Works but plays slow on dy, inter just keeps rebooting the bios over and over

Spiderman 2:Enter Electro-PAL-tested with both cores, game hangs with a red screen after the first loading screen

Star Ocean 2-NTSC-Code dumps

Um Jammer Lammy-NTSC-tested with both cores, video hangs after the first loading screen yet the music still plays

may try playing with the usb2 version soon

I'd reccommed people check games that don't work at all with cdmage for errors:
http://cdmage.orconhosting.net.nz/downlnks.html

just open up the disc image with this program, if it asks what kind of track it is choose M2/2352 track.
Then do Action->Scan For Corruption

if it finds errors there's a slight chance those errors wouldn't effect the game but more likely than not those errors are what is making the game not function.

I made this mod, USB2 is the only thing add, with my version it's possible that some third party classic controller who doesn't work in the official release work cause i compiled it with my mod libogc
