Hacking WiiSpeak Out

I'm just a poster there... not the owner... I'm Comcaster... I gave props to Sorox for the dump, since it is their dump... I just report the news!

sorox's channel is a good dump...but when I go to use it, it restarts my wii....

that means I either am missing an IOS (most likely) or need a wiispeak microphone plugged in for it to even load (less likely)

can someone who has it working try it without the mic plugged in,
and also bring up Anytitle deleter and check what IOS's under 100 they have installed.

thanks

I just tested the wad, yeah soon as i entered channel, it told me to restart wii and connect the device before entering channel again, return to wii menu etc etc

that didnt happen to me though, just a plain old restart...

im guessing its IOS 53 or 55, cuz I have all others I know of.

anyone checkin on their installed IOS?

If you can get Animal Crossing to work, WiiSpeak will work... just took a look at it, and it needs the same IOS's as AC...

As for generic mic's, I have a logitech (from Boogie pack) that works with every Mic game out there (Guitar Hero World Tour, Disney Sing It, Boogie, Boogie SuperStar), but it's not seeing it with the WiiSpeak Channel...

Shame... would have been fun... wonder what special chip it's reading in the actual accessory to know it's plugged in!

not really, animal crossing uses IOS38 for ingame chat.....the wiispeak channel could use any other IOS it wanted, so it's very likely that is the problem, especially since there are these IOS in the 50's.

Yea, that is funny... so wtf!? I just tried the Disney Sing it as well and I would have guessed it to work with the Wiispeak as well... well that's not freaking cool! Damn it man...

So as long as my Animal Crossing works it should access the WiiSpeak with no patches like they had to do with RockBand or whatever?

Thanks.. so what games can you use with the WiiSpeak altogether?!
Just AC?! If so that was not worth the $30.00 I just paid...I'd rather have the damn Logitech mic/headset and sing of fucking song!

It says The Wii Speak accessory is not connected.

Please turn the Wii console off and reconnect your Wii Speak accessory.

Ok I dont get it.

If I buy the accesoire (lets say from a friend) would it work with the dumped channel on my wii

problem solved, spread this around:

WiiSpeak Channel is officially IOS55 dependent.

IOS53 does not seem to affect it, unable to get IOS50, but doubt it'd make a difference.

once again IOS55 required (same one you used to fix error002 on NFS:UG

Once again, it appears that this may be the trend:

ingame chat: dependent on IOS38
channel chat/function: dependent on IOS55
error 002: dependent on IOS55
menu 3.4: dependent on IOS50
wiishop channel: dependent on IOS51

practical need for IOS53, still unknown.

@IronMask, I have no wiispeak mic to test with....I just wanted to know why the channel wouldn't load, but I figured that out: IOS55 is needed.

sorry I can't be more help, you'll undoubtedly have it figured out by the time I get a wiispeak mic, which could be never....though I would like to chat it up with some gbatemp homies. (and laugh at many with poor spoken english, haha jk)

you shouldn't need to patch AC if it's wiispeak enabled...users have been using both hard and softmod systems with AC as-is and wiispeak in game, so you should be good.
