i have installed multiple different media centers on my wii (RVL-001 black model) and it can play movies and videos off of an SD card or a usb stick just fine. but DVD playback doesn't work and it says the system is not compatible. i installed CIOS for USB loader GX but i haven't tried it since then. does that fix the issue? (i would try it myself but i don't want to waste time finding WiiMC on tockdom again)

Newer wii's aren't capable of playing backup discs or dvds

Newer DVD drive installed on the Wii is not compatible for any DVD-R

im not using dvdR im using just plain movie dvds

Rip it using makemkv or something and copy to usb or network if you absolutely need to watch this using wiimc
