Hi,
I just ordered my Wiikey and i have a few questions:

1) what media is best? Can I use re-writeable DVD'S?
2) What is PAL and NTSC?

Sorry for the lame questions, but i'm new to the Wii mod scene.

Thanks for any help you guys can offer!

Could have went through a few topics...

But to answer your question:

1. To keep your laser from having an early death, I'd advice you to use quality media, preferably Verbatim.
About the RW, it IS possible, however, not adviced to keep your Wii in good condition.

I've been using Verbatim DVD-R at 4x speed and I've never had any problems with my Wii. DVD-R and slow speeds are best for burning Wii DVD's.

2. PAL = European release, NTSC-U= American NTSC-J= Japanese
Generally when people say NTSC, they mean American releases as Japanese are often just named with "JAP".

Vertabim and Tayio Yuden (sp?) DVD-R are the two best brands. I personally use TDKs.

Burn them all at 4x. Use DVD-RW for the config discs and update discs and stuff you don't need to use that much.

Thanks for your responses! Its great info!

I have another question about encryption. How can i tell if an .ISO is encrypted or not and how do i unencrpyt?

Thanks again for your help!

If it's .WII you need Wii Unscrambler. If it's .ISO you burn it directly.

But don't worry, only the first games released were Scrambled, so you don't really have to worry about it
