Hacking Wiikey Installed!

I just installed my Wiikey. Playing Mario & Sonic @ The Olympic Games and No More Heroes right now. Upgraded to 1.9s, hoping I can play MGS: Twin Snakes and the Resident Evil re-make. Thanks to everyone on this forum who helped me gather information that lead me to a successful install! Is there anything cool I can do now, besides play backups? I've done all the softmods, the emulator channels, wiiware, etc. So have I done everything there is to do? Hard and soft mods, if I'm missing anything noteworthy, fill me in!

So true. Still to nervous to mod my Wii. I cant soider and I dont know where I could take my Wii to get soidered.

Well, the only soldering experience I'd had prior to this was adding some LEDs to my wiimotes, and before that, none. Its actually pretty easy if you read some guides and practice on some old junk boards you can get out of broken keyboards or old DVD drives. Its really not as hard as it is intimidating, but once you get a little bit of practice, and use a small wattage iron, its pretty easy.

Yes it's pretty easy, if you have soldering skills, good guides and soldering iron (Y' know 250 Watt isn't good at all /It don't fried my wii, luckily/)

I hadn't any other soldering iron, only that 250 one

Anyway, to the "working wii"
Well it does not...but not because of 250 Watt soldering iron, no...
I was trying to adjust the potentiometer of the laser for DLs and I screwed whole potentiometer+laser

And, I live there, where no one knows what the Wii is, so I had to buy second one. I'm trying to buy laser for first one (it works, it just do not read any discs) and sell it

But for now I have TWO WII SYSTEMS! YAY!

Cause:
It's heavily damaged inside, as laser is broken
It have a few things that will tell Nintendo it was modded
It have heavily damaged case (No triwing)
I live there where they don't ship.

From my recent experience of re-installing my Wiikey on my new drive (motor burned out on the old one) I would just go with the Wii Clip with the chip already soldered and pay the extra few dollars...I ended spending about the same having a tech at work solder it on for me. BTW,if your drive burns out,actually I think it was just really dirty,I cleaned it up but havent tested it out yet,you can leave your modchip on your board thats on the drive and just swap with the new drive unit....I thought mine was bad and uh anyway....it was an experience,but as of yesterday I am back in business with a modded Wii again...yippee..
