Hardware Wii USB External DVD ROM Drive

I found this online and they say that the drive supports the Wii U-LOADER system. Does that mean it works with Wii U? What do you think? I'm not looking to pirate. Any help is appreciated.

Never saw it! good thing for dead drive on wii. I think it works on wiiU vor the vWii part, and so, can read wii disc from the vWii.
But I don't understand how it could work "plug&play" like they say.
Best to know, ask them more details, I would be happy to learn more about this object...!

Nice, plug and play means that you don't have to configure the drive you can just plug it in and use it. Thanks for the reply

yes, I understand but I mean "how the Wii/vWii think its optical drive is the one plugged in usb and not its original internal drive"?

I'm not sure. Maybe through the power cable... That's what's special about this accessory, it plugs in through the power port and usb.
