Recently I tried the wfs tools on my HDD to reencrypt it but accidentally turned off the computer before it finished, so I formatted the drive to NTFS and connected it to the console to reformat it, but now it no longer recognizes it (the drive still works fine on PC).

I tried 2 different Y cables, tried connecting to each one of the 4 usb ports, tried different formats and formatting tools but nothing worked. I tried 3 more HDDs that had previously worked and strangely only the one that was already formatted by the Wii U was detected. Also, when having any of the 3 non working HDDs connected, if I turn off the console the led on the power button stays blue, and trying the reboot app on Aroma freezes the console, which doesn't happen with the Wii U formatted HDD.

[SOLVED]

Turns out the issue is with ISFSHAX, if you have the wafel_usb_partition plugin installed it allows the console to detect HDDs with 2 partitions, but it no longer detects those with only one partition. To fix it I temporarily deleted the plugin, rebooted the console, let the Wii U format the whole drive, reinstalled the plugin and now it's working.

On my case the plugin didn't detect my 4tb hdd because of the mbr limit... So I have to use a smaller wiiu formatted disk to do all that (the small drive doesn't fit everything so that 4tb was my only seamless option... welp the transfer is no longer seamless ☠ coz now I have to do multiple transfers from drive to drive)

Hello I recently had to upgrade my Wii U partition size and I ran into a similar problem, which might have the same cause... Did you only have to remove wafel_usb_partition from iso_plugins and that was it? Because it isn't working for me, I even tried booting the Wii U without my SD so it had to fallback on original firmware and it didn't work...

Yeah, I just removed wafel_usb_partition from the iso_plugins folder on the SLC and that fixed the problem for me. That allowed me to format the entire drive with the Wii U format to test a few things, then I reformatted the drive with 2 partitions and reinstalled wafel_usb_partition and all worked well.
