Recently I tried the wfs tools on my HDD to reencrypt it but accidentally turned off the computer before it finished, so I formatted the drive to NTFS and connected it to the console to reformat it, but now it no longer recognizes it (the drive still works fine on PC).
I tried 2 different Y cables, tried connecting to each one of the 4 usb ports, tried different formats and formatting tools but nothing worked. I tried 3 more HDDs that had previously worked and strangely only the one that was already formatted by the Wii U was detected. Also, when having any of the 3 non working HDDs connected, if I turn off the console the led on the power button stays blue, and trying the reboot app on Aroma freezes the console, which doesn't happen with the Wii U formatted HDD.
[SOLVED]
Turns out the issue is with ISFSHAX, if you have the wafel_usb_partition plugin installed it allows the console to detect HDDs with 2 partitions, but it no longer detects those with only one partition. To fix it I temporarily deleted the plugin, rebooted the console, let the Wii U format the whole drive, reinstalled the plugin and now it's working.
