Does anyone have a working link to the RPX/RPL to normal ELF converter tool? The only links I can find are old and dead.

Being able to decrypt the files that are running on games will surely lead to many clues about how to approach finding exploits?

Something I thought of the other day, and it was just a thought I had so I have no clue if this is applicable in any way - I noticed that the browser exploit can be used to modify game content, as seen in some hacks?

If so, couldn't the browser be used as a glitching device for games as well?
It sounds like a catch 22 - if you can rewrite memory for games, couldn't you just take total control as well? And that's true.
I was thinking that this could open more avenues in the way of exploits though.

Okay more evidence that its handing the digital download of the wii game into vWii, your old save files in your vWii WILL load for your wii u copy of SMG2! To me, it seems its just a shortcut into the vWii mode (and it obviously is holding the 1.7 gb game)

That is interesthing. lets assume someone reverse that shortcut, we could have custom wii games to wiiU homescreen :)

That would be The end all of awesome. In theory eventually(TM;) ) I could have my gamecube games (nintendon't) linked right from my wii u page. In said theoretical universe.

1 more person who doesn't know about save file importing.

Also, Just because home menu LOOKS like Wii's home menu, DOES NOT make it Wii home menu.

True. But would it be exporting too. The test needs to be throwing the disc back in and double checking to see if the save is the same afterwords I'd think.

Wii home menu are hard coded in games, unless I'm wrong.

Yeah they are. there is no OS on the wii so stuff that seems to be the wii's OS is just required code in every game.

I have a question regarding firmware versions: with the common key it is supposed to be able to decrypt system updates, could this be used to confirm if REALLY 5.3.2 block the exploit or look where the addresses are now to port it?

Thanks in advance :)

So it reads/writes potentially, okay. That doesn't mean it's in vWii mode. However, my theory is that it's using vWii hardware and NWP/Crediar mentioned custom IOSes/modded Cafe OS(I think that's what he said? It's in this thread), so that's what I'm going with. But these are all theories though, it's not confirmed that it uses vWii at all. All we can confirm is that we can't use the gamepad without a custom IOS in VWii, and the gamepad is not a substitute for WiiMote(Crediar commented this in a thread relating to this.) So no confirming anything until we have more information.

It's probably not impossible to access the vWii NAND from Wii U mode. The Wii U and vWii NAND chips are just separate banks of the same controller. Also, how would you launch a game in vWii mode if not from a disc? Standard vWii IOS doesn't support anything but that.

Yeah, don't mean to make it sound like an argument, because you are right, its all theory (i had yours too) until we can test it. I'm just hopeful its going into vWii as I think we could do stuff with that easier. The other thing it could be since there is no using the gamepad as a controller yet an update might show up later modifying vWii but thats just

Maybe nintendo will make new IOSes?
