If I install themes on my wii do I risk bricking it?

To install themes, you must have bootmii and priiloader to install, to avoid wicking the wii.

Yes, changing the system menu is inherently unsafe.

You can do it as long as you have Priiloader setup and bootmii. If you have those two tools you risk not bricking the system (If you can't boot into the home menu screen.) Hold reset to activate priiloader and chose a theme that works with your home menu through Homebrew.

Also make sure to use your own regions theme and version. For instance if you find a theme make sure its for your system version and region.
