Hacking Wii Speak 2.0

ok here is where i am at. I tried using the 'safe' updater for The firmware, but it did not work properly...
So i updated using the internet connection, and I was able to re-download the Wii Speak channel via shop channel. I started it up saw that it was still ver. 2.0
and then it hung at a black screen and wouldn't load

My question is do I have to update it (Wii Speak) or send it in to Nintey?

thanks i have been there before! I don't think i did it right though, and i will try again! (Pobably will just get IOS56) Thanks again!

EDIT: worked like a charm, and it was updated; i did what was greyed out and resulted in a black screen

but reinstalling the 'patched' IOS56 with a clean one Fix'd the problem!
