Hi,

A few friends have been asking - Has anyone been able to hack Wii Points yet to increase them or a keygen for them or something, or even being able to put Virtual Console games onto an SD and playing them?

It seems a while ago since I heard about it, I wonder if anyones done it yet.

Thanks,
Jake.

The codes are all stored on a database, so it's impossible to generate random codes.

Free wii points in sig

someone should start a website where everyone can submit their USED wiipoints codes to a website. surely with thousands of codes the algorithm for the codes could be found.

right?

There is no algorithm. The codes are completely random (well, pseudo-random to be precise). All generated codes on wii points cards go into a whitelist database. When you enter a number, it checks if the number is valid by checking the database

Yeah, your points are tied to your Wii's serial number via the internet and nintendo's database.

If someone did figure that out, it really would be like hacking their databases...not cool.

But cant some one create a fake database and then using the fake database to allow the wii point card to be used numerous times

It doesn't work like that. Virtual Console is a store operated by Nintendo, and the points you have are stored by them, at the store. You can't just have a separate database and then just go to the store and tell the store how many points you have based on what some other server is telling your Wii you have.

And once again, even if doing something like what you describe is possible, its like hacking Nintendo's store, which is not cool.

Well you could DNS Spoof it?

Until emulators or something of the sorts comes along, you can always just punch in random letters and numbers and hope something works.

I'm sure generating wii points could be construed as counterfeiting. It would be similar to making your own tokens to go play games at Chuckie Cheese. This is something that I would be against. I think the real solution will be the ability to download and play cracked versions of VC games.
