I know that if you do a nand backup of a wii right after you softmod it and if you ever need to unbrick your to to use the nand, then it will be close to factory settings for the wii but what if you do a nand backup and you have a custom wii menu theme and channels installed. Will the nand backup you made also restore the custom menu theme and channels/games that were installed onto the system if you used that more recent nand dump?

yes, nand backups are like a battery save on an emulator. you make one, and when you put it back the console and you reboot, it will "continue where you left"

note, it will not make a backup of the sd card or usb.

its more like save states but this doesn't save the ram or extra stuff, so it is more like creating a save state of a powered off game....

i hope my explanation was good \ understandable (is this a word? xD )

just make sure you don't restore it too often. if the restore is bad done or you power off the console before it is over (electricity cut) you can get a brick...

make sure you dont have anything in the console when you do nand backup\restores, just the sd card and wii mote connected. (no gamecube stuff, usb or disc) i heard this can create problems...

Can I add a follow-up question? Does the NAND backup restore function works even if BootMii is only installed as IOS. I read somewhere that there's a case where you can't restore it properly and you only end up making a backup file.

Do not restore your backup with BootMii/IOS. If something goes wrong, say bye bye to your Wii. If something goes wrong in BootMii/boot2, you can just restart.

Also, BootMii/IOS can probably corrupt your NAND if you restore. If you restore with BootMii/IOS, that's a huge risk.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
