Hardware Wii mod chip for D2C

I finally decided to buy a D2Sun v1.5 here (presoldered) at Modchipcentral. I've heard that they were cheap, but do they work good to run backups and no issues? I just need them for a D2C drive. (I'm on a budget). If this is not a good choice, which modchip would you recommend that does not require changes to the wii clip (ex. extending the clk wire). Thanks in advance.

If spending a few more dollars will keep my Wii protected from errors and/or failures, I'll go for it.

EDIT: I mean buying the 3.0 D2Sun, since all the other bundles are above or about $80 if presoldered

Another question, does the change in the D2Sun versions only improve the compatibly between the newer drive models D2C2, D2E? Since I only need it for my D2C drive.

Did your uncle have a D2C drive? So I guess that I will buy D2Sun 1.5 from modchipcentral because it is an actual business and I don't want to mess w/ my dad's credit card. Thanks Framework43.

Yeah, he had a D2C
and just to inform you, any site that sells modchips are pretty shady and cant always be safe, I also heard people giving bad reviews to modchipcentral so I didnt buy from there :/, and the shipping is alot too >_>

The shipping is free in North America. They do offer a 30 day warranty if the product is defective. So I just have to make sure that I buy the right chip and do not mess my Wii. Do you guys have any tips on installing the Wii clip? Thanks for all you help.
