The famed Ben Heckendorn concocted the first Wii Laptop of note way back in 2007, but ever since, the modding community at large has been toiling away on ways to improve it. ShockSlayer, a member over at Mod Retro, has accomplished just that, with his predictably titled Wii Laptop relying on a 7-inch LCD, an integrated sensor bar, a couple of polycases and inbuilt speakers. There's hardly anything here that couldn't be found at your local Radio Shack, save for the SunDriver -- that particular product has enabled him to ditch the DVD drive and install a SATA HDD within. From there, he burned his Wii game discs and loaded 'em all inside, making the whole thing extra mobile. Oh, and did we mention that it's powered by rechargeable batteries? Because it is. Marvel at the completed device in the video after the break. [/p]

don't know why this hasn't been posted before but it's freakin awesome, wish i had those modding skills

Me wants.. NOW!! If you can still add a external monitor it's perfect!

Aesthetically, it looks kind of...ugly. It's still awesome, and I'm sure it would be hard to make it look pretty, but it still looks like it got a really lousy paint job.

Well, I mean...the Wii is pretty small...

It kinda looks like all they did was add a monitor and an ugly-ass case.

That's the old version by Ben Heck, same guy.

PD: What video is in minute 5:08?
This new one isn't by Ben Heck. He has more class than that ugly thing. Heck's looks FAR better IMO, and I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for him to switch the DVD drive with a hard drive and a SunDriver or WODE (is WODE not better? I dunno, i don't follow modchips)

And when he launches the menu for choosing the game, does he have to use a Gamecube controller to choose the game he wants to play? That sucks IMO.
