I am trying to use a micro SD card to load syscheck to create a file to see what IOS/CIOS I have installed, issue is, that when I tell HBC to read it (because it won't read it any other way now) I get an Exception (DSI) Ocurred! followed by a stack dump.

Any ideas what is causing this?

Figured part of the cause, the wii is being stubborn it dislikes most of my adapters, said behaivor only started recently.

Use a regular SD card. You're sticking an extra controller in the chain that the Wii isn't designed to use.

microSD to SD adapters are purely physical format converters, no electronic is involved.
How old is your Wii? maybe the Wii SD slot got contact problems or your adapters are crappy (most cheap ones are).

Sometimes, when you insert the sd, the physical edges of the wii sd slot, turn the "lock" feature on the sd adapter to "on", and it can cause some problems. It ocurred to me while using syscheck. In the wii menu, insert your sd, and observes if a sound like a "bloop" happens. If yes, the wii recognizes the sd, and maybe its only the lock feature, like I said. Besides that, you always can use usb to homebrew apps.

I would, if I had any.

first gen, 2007, and no, mine came with the respective Micro SD card, most of them are kingston and Sandisk, I found one that works, but I am sure the other ones of Sandisk also worked before too.

yep, those black filmy ones. You can try inserting the microsd into the adapter with contact side inclined slightly downward. If you are good at hardware, you can dissect the adapter, bend the contacts and tape it back together.

Sadly I am not.

Okm, HBC does not likes it if you remove the card while the wii is ON, it just corrupted it and I gotta wait for half an hour before the recovery wizard can see if it can get them back.

Try this to see if your Wii can read it, it usually doesn't read Micro SD Cards for me...

Open the Photo Channel and go and choose to view from an SD... Just put a JPG on it.

If it doesn't load, then you probably can't use it.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
