i updated my disc channel twice today once for COD MW reflex and Netflix... Tried a couple other games and it didnt ask for anything else*shrugs* figured if it didnt brick my wii it would remove homebrew and to be honest it didnt hurt a thing Im on 4.2 u
Just wanted to share this little bit of info with all of you. I have softmodded my Wii System menu 4.3U and have installed Wii Flow. I first did this Christmas of 2010. Everything worked just fine until this past week when 2 of my game discs, Wii Sports Resort, and Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock started forcing updates through the disc channel. Even with internet disabled. Neither of these games will rip to my external HD I’m using. When you update it wipes out the mod completely and you have to do it all over. Like an idiot I updated it because I thought it started blocking all my game discs. I remodded it and everything was fine until I try to play one of these 2 games. I then realized it was only these 2 games doing it. I take the games out and try other games and it doesn’t do this. It only happens with these two games. A system update blocks the game disc channel and doesn’t let you play the games unless you update, which wipes out the softmod. Funny thing is it’s still on 4.3U. Also I do have Priloader installed and block updates enabled both disc and online updates.
To get around this I simply installed Neo Gamma and loaded the updating game discs with it. Simply install Neo Gamma in Homebrew Channel, then just click load game from DVD and presto! Your game disc loads!
I would leave links to Neo Gamma and a very awesome softmod guide for 4.3U complete with all files, but don't wanna break rules of this forum seeing I AM a newbie.
Also I'm sure there are other game discs that force updates this way. I only had 2 in my collection that did so. But Neo Gamma seemed to me like the easiest way to get around it.
