i don't think wiiconnect24 is safe on any wii. The fans do not come on in standby mode and the graphics chip will overheat. You can send your wii back to Nintendo to fix it but if you have a chip in this quite the ordeal to go through. (opening wii, removing chip, closing wii, etc)

i've had my Wii modded since the Wiikey came out, and it has been in standby mode when not being played since i bought it. i have had no problems.

Wow that's crazy, so to fully use the channels of MK we'll have to put it on once a day a few moment to receive data. I'll try to see if it works like that. Thanks a lot, you save my wii Bob Loblaw

wiiconnect24 standby is an overheat problem. keep your wii cooled down a bit !

the pad underneath is an antec notebook cooler

you dont have to get what i got though, i happened to have an extra ;P simple things like a fan or more air around your wii is nice ! also see what the temperature is like in your home with a thermometer for that extra detail. it was pretty cold for months here, it was hard to get 70 degrees inside ! now its 80 degrees in my house and i cant stand it, but thats just me =[ *shirt off*

I would never ever use wii connect 24. Already had a wii fuck up on me due to it (vga chip overheating and causing those infamous lines on screen) and boy was it a mission getting it fixed due to it being modded.

1. Bought a new wii.

2. Removed drive from messed up wii with mod on it

3. Removed drive from new wii

4. Switched the drives around

5. Sent in ruined wii with new drive to nintendo so that they would not know its modded

6. Got wii back after three weeks after which I switched the drives again

7. Returned new wii that I had bought back with its original drive.

Phew...I wish never to go back to that again
