If the download links would just stay the same... the directory thing was my bad btw, default instead of download.

So I guess my project ends here then. Sure shortcutting to the download page for every single item that gets updated will work, but it seems like a major step back, and a big inconvenience. Oh well, it was a nice dream.

Perhaps you could find a free file sharer that would let you update the file without changing the url?
there has to be a workaround?
I've tried media fire and file trip. If you find something that would work, let me know. Unless Gave92 can pull off some voodoo and make download button autoclick a reality, I dunno what else I could do.

What you ask can be done, tomorrow i'll pull off some voodoo.

EDIT
drakorex if you download again the boot.dol you may find that some magic happened
(the shortcut url must contain the word "FLOWMART" in uppercase)

Is that for all of them, or just the one? How do you mean?

In my opinion 4shared would be best it requires a free account to upload and download files and you get 10GB of storage and it provides static links with a really nice site user-interface. There is also an application by 4shared called 4shared Desktop also know as 4Shared Sync

Thanks, man! This would have really come in handy about 12 hours ago. :P If I'm ever hurtin for more upload space, I'll check these out.

gave92 If you'd like to hop on chat on your site, I've got somethin for ya ;)

Just when ya think ya got it all figured out.... I thought I'd try it out a few more times, just for giggles, but now it isn't working again. I thought maybe I did something wrong, so I redownloaded the boot.dol two and three times, tripple checked my links, and it's dropping me at the download page again. I scrolled down to download it manually, and realized what happened. gave92 I think your brilliant fix is being thwarted by captchas! I'm guessing there's no way around those...

Still works fine for me.. However if mediafire is so troublesome you may consider to switch to dropbox
PS i have the useragent set to "libcurl" and i don't see any captcha

I'm guessing you have to download 5 or 10 times before captcha pops up. Does dropbox let you update existing uploads, or does it upload a second file and rename it with _1 on the end like 4shared does?

Yeah and it provides static download links, that's how wiibrowser's autoupdate worked in the past releases
Links appear like this

Ahh, that might just solve everything. And render your recent coding wizardry a total waste of time. (I'm sorry?) :P

That download button is created through javascript: since wiibrowser does not understand javascript, i had to find a workaround
