^ Is it possible to download to usb? It would be a bit of a hassle to download big files to sd only to have to move them.

As I already said "next version is almost ready and will bring a file browser to handle downloads" ;)
@drakorex It's possible to download to USB, just use "usb://" when choosing the save path.

Will we also be able to use the file browser for uploads? -i.e. a user might want to upload a file to Google Drive or a picture to Facebook

I had seen this but haven't had time to give it a spin. I will do so shortly. And thanks for the great work! I always wished/wanted a better browser for my Wii. :) One question, do you plan on having HTML5? Or is that already in? The reason I ask is while flash is great and I think it should be added if it can (as it is used SO much on the net), there is also a lot in HTML 5 and I see the push to head in that direction.

I think he was working on supporting HTML5 videos (although maybe not all the rest of HTML5)

I would absolutely love to be able to download or compile the latest version so that I can try it out myself and provide useful feedback! :)

So glad to see a browser being developed. I finally had the chance to give it a spin and while it has a long way to go, it looks great so far. I did get it to crash once when I was trying to go into the settings (wrench icon on the home screen) after browsing a few pages, not bad though and I will see if I can duplicate it. Other than that, seems to be a great mostly text browser(as some images are displayed). Anyway great work and looking forward to see its development progress.

Why is it that the latest rev hasn't been uploaded as to allow updating? Most recent dl is rev 70.

@Katsumi San: Right now I'm focusing on adding features/making the app more stable but I'm also working on a new rendering engine to make webpages look like as they appear on other browsers (this will take time)

@LightyKd: Added support for file uploads
BTW how is going your work on the forwarder channel? ;)

Well, Maxternal is right: I've already implemented support for HTML5/Flash videos but it' s unstable and will require some more work.

To anyone who would like to test not yet released versions but is not able to compile them (I can however provide help doing it):
next revision will have the option to keep up to date with nightly builds :yaywii:

Nice :) The speed is amazing really. Some pages are easier with say the opera browser but sooooo slow. For example weather.com in the opera browser gives a form to fill out to put your zip code in for local weather. I looked around but didn't see that with Wiibrowser. Might be missed it, but then it crashed and I didn't have time to go back and see if I could find that one line entry form.

Regardless looking good and very cool about html5.

@Videomanman87: I checked weather.com and I found that the html code of the form is malformed,
I'll try adding some more flexibility to the rendering engine.

Note: revision 87 is out!

Sadly I have not started work on any of my banners yet :( Ive been stuck struggling with my two lives. One as a cable technician and one as a Ouya game developer. The cable technician part has the upper hand right now because it pays the bills. Finding balance is tough :/ I do plan to make website related banners once I can get some time...or at least start artwork so that someone else can bring in their ideas.

A suggestion for the forwarder: for its pic, use the icon.png provided in the latest package. Animate it a bit (have it bounce around or zoom in & out or w/e). For a sound, use either the opera channel's sound or something else, a brief tune like a startup sound or a IM sound or w/e. Finally, have the forwarder point to /apps/wiibrowser/boot.dol etc etc.

You can use Customizemii to make one, i think.

Idea: Have the tool bar pop up by hovering at the bottom, freeing up button commands (for zoom, maybe)

Question: How do I browse past the first 8 folders?

Problem: lots of code dumps. Just going to bookmarks and pressing the settings button does it. Going to downloads and pressing 2 does it as well. Still not sure how to download things. After clicking on a link that would open a "save to" browser on computer, and waiting for what should be enough time, I checked the download folder and nothing.

@drakorex: About downloads:
when you click on a download link you should be asked whether to save the file,
hit ok and a file browser should come up;
browse to a folder, then add a file name clicking on the textbox above.
you can see ongoing downloads clicking on the download button on the app bar in the main page.

I know it's not straightforward, i've already improved this thing in the svn version:
to test it, change the "autoupdate" setting in the app to "nightly".

About code dumps: I'd need screenshots of the code dumps or I won't be able to fix them.
