His name is Pakkuman because of "pakku pakku", the sound of flapping lips; Romanized that's Puckman but Namco was concerned some crafty little bastards would etch out the corner of the P into an F

, they always did ( didn't you watch the pac-man behind the scenes special for TV on the early 80's..???), but thanks to 8 bit arcade technology they were able to hide that for 30 years.. now with HD and 3D TV's everything pops to reality, and they need to face the world without fooling people!!
