Misc WiFi hacking

I know,maybe its illegal and maybe the worst place to post this,but if anyone knows if there is a way to hack wifi devices using your ds?

I would say the DS does not have the power or network speed to crack 64 bit wep keys, get a laptop if you want to do that they are faster.

One could be made I guess but I don't know how effective it would be.

Yep use a laptop.
However, you can do some nice wardriving with DS2Key and try to connect to them and ping websites.

What is wardriving? I saw that feature but didn't quite get what it does exactly.

Utter crap - you can get a wireless router to reveal it's SSID whether it's broadcast or not in

SSID is included in every single packet that goes to and from the router

turn off the broadcast beacon is the stupidest "security advice" that anyone has every given

it's like locking the door on a convertible that has the top down....

if you don't know the ssid how do you crack it then? It's much safer if you have a wep along with not broadcasting the ssid then broadcasting it. am I right?

Nope - the SSID part of the packet is in the clear on each and every frame.

You use a WLAN setup in promiscuous mode (remember WEP is wired-equivalence) and capture frames across all 11/13/14 channels (depending on your location worldwide) - dissect the frames and the SSID is there.....
