Wifi driver reinstall doesnt work

I know that this sounds too similar to the previous thread, but the lack of internet connection options happenned again, and I tried reinstalling the drivers with the official installer but I got an error with this log:

I already tried uninstalling the driver, but I still got the same error, and I tried using driver booster and driver store explorer but neither did anything, and then I tried entering the bios but I saw no wifi options.

Reinstalling drivers isn't gonna help in most cases. No idea where this advice comes from and why it is repeated so often.
I think it just reset the WiFi device last time you ran the installer successfully (same effect is disabling and enabling in Device Manager).

Why would a driver that worked for months and years be the culprit all of a sudden?

While still doing Windows (XP era) I've seen a lot of examples where a Windows installation suddenly became unusable for no good reason.

Possible causes I can think of:
  • Windows gone loco
  • Hardware issue
  • Borked network config
If the WiFi device shows in Device Manager without problems the driver is most likely okay.

You may guess it... my favorite... process of elimination:
Boot a live Linux. If WiFi works there this rules out hardware issues.

A fresh Windows 10 installation on a spare SSD is also a nice idea.

There is only so much one can do with text.
If the problem is pure software based a new Windows installation will most likely help.


Semi off-topic:
At a certain age many electronic devices become unreliable or just fail. I experience this all the time. Few things work flawlessly after 10+ years. Old gaming consoles and HiFi components are notable for often reaching 30+ years while not showing any major problems.
You might guess what I'm implying here: Your (family) computer is past it's prime and the hardware might be crapping out sometimes. ← I know this is not a very technical diagnosis, but it is exactly what I've seen over the decades again and again. Even without fatal defect (dried fish on land) a PC can start becoming unreliable and show unexplained symptoms.

Ok I turned off the pc for the whole weekend and now that i turn it on again wifi works. Maybe I just had to have it turned off for a while.
