Misc Wifi Connection Question

Is the Nintendo 3DS able to connect to routers that have WPA/WPA2 security on them or does it have to be WEP? Also, if the 3DS does connect to WPA/WPA2, do the games work with it?

3DS can connect to all the router securities.
WPA,WPA2,WEP etc.
And ofc it works

There are no stupid questions, just stupid answers.

GamerzHell9137 is 100% right, with the exception of a flashcart. You can't play 3ds games on flashcarts, so they are all made to run in "dsmode". Dsmode only supports open connections, and wep. It does not support the modern WPA/WPA2 encryptions
