Hacking Why should Wiikey-Team bring the update?

i own the wiikey too, but,.....why support the wiikey. A lot of clones, no one is buying it anymore,...so why support?

Maybe they have a sense of pride for their work? Maybe they'd like to sell more Wiikey's in the future?

I wish I could say this is the worst pointless thread as of late... but there have been some REEEEEALLLLYYY bad ones.

Firstly - there are MILLIONS of unchipped Wiis out there with DMS/D2A/D2B chipsets. There is still ALOT of money to be made with wiikey sales.

Secondly you can not use D2Ckey on older wiis.

Thirdly, if wiikey doesnt update, people would say "screw getting a d2ckey its never gonna get updated ill get an argon" etc

Im sure wiikey will get an update soon, after all its not new protection its just the fact it doesnt read dual layer discs properly. Its hardly gonna take them long to sort that out, considering other chips have it.

The OP does have a very valid point. There is really little motivation for the Wiikey team to release an update, but then again the CycloWiz team seem to be producing no more chips, yet they provide firmware updates.

In the end it's down to the team if they decide to release an update or not.

Becurse lots of people still buys the WiiKey and everyone knows that the D2CKey team also is the SAME team as the WiiKey team.

What are you talking about? If they don't release an update no one will ever buy a product from them again in the future. And everything they worked for, and their whole business goes kaput.

If thats your opinion about the Wiikey im guessing you don't own one.
You should never open your own business though cause keeping your customers satisfied is the most important thing and I see you would have problems with that. The Wiikey team made this chip and now they have the responsibility to keep it functional.

people know that the d2c team is related to the wiikey team. Wiikey team stops support -> people won't buy the d2ckey cuz of the bad reputation. THAT's why they will continue. Also it's pretty good to know what actually causes it for future chips and so on.

If you screw them they fuck you back and never trust you again........so that means that you lose lots of customers and the 'hack'/'update' they make for the dc2 is also the code that will work on the wiikey so it's not a problem to publish it also for the wiikey.

Wiikey is also working on a dumper for dual layer discs, and with that will come a new firmware allowing you to play SSBB on Wiikey. Who wants to buy a modchip that lets you play real games, but not the backup of that game? This thread is so annoying
