Hacking Why my cat is a secret hacker

So i'm encoding a movie to DPG to watch on my DS in bed.
I casually leave the micro reader in with my save folder open.
I deleted meaningless save files of roms i no longer have on there.
I leave my desk and go sit on my bed and then what happens?
The cat jumps on the keyboard and presses shift+directional key(right)+delete.
EXACTLY IN THAT ORDER.
WIPES OUT HALF MY SAVES. Yes that's right half my save's GONE! Undo delete ? Didn't work.
Recycle BIN? Not there. Way to go cat.

You can use Recuva to recover thoes delete files as long as they havent been overwritten by something else yet.

Theres other software out that does similar things, but that ones free and easy to use.

Wow, that was some story. But, it's probably a coincidence. Anyway, just use a recovery program. Oh, and DO NOT add too many files until you're done with the recovery. Just the program.

Reminded me of this article I read.

If my cat secretly went to cp sites then i would be really worried.
But i'm pretty sure it just accidently hit the exact hot key to delete all that.
That recovery tool got some of them thankfully my FF saves some weren't recovered.(I use a 8 GB micro)
And i will never leave my micro in unattended again despite I have a 3 desktops in my room and i'm the only one who use's them
really.

If it's not to late for me to say this: If you're going to use something like Recuva, do it quickly. Every time you download or create a file -- even just browsing the internet (which downloads temporary files) there's a risk of overwriting your deleted saves and making them unrecoverable.

In fact, I recommend downloading Recuva onto a flash drive and running it from there, since downloading it to your hard drive risks overwriting your saves.

Do as little as possible on your computer until you've recovered the saves. The more you do, the greater the risk of overwriting the things you (well, your cat) deleted.

EDIT: Oh, wait, they were already on your flash card, right? We're talking about things that were on your flash card and got deleted.

That makes things much better for you, since obviously browsing the internet or downloading Recuva onto your hard drive won't write to your flash drive and, therefore, won't overwrite your saves.

But don't use that flash drive for anything until your saves have been recovered. Don't copy any files onto it, don't boot it up in your DS (it may write something), etc. Recover it first.

-UPDATE- Was digging through some old files while working on my syllabus if anyone cares
this would be the culprit.

Kidding...(but srsly, they are better)...I hope you manage to recover your files though.

Give my complements to the kitty for such a deed though. It's not everyday you see that.
