Why is ps2 emulation on the ps4 so bad?

And the compatibility list is so bad.

Will it get better or is this all we have?

you can use cli or lua config files, but the reason emulation is so bad is because each game that's a ps2 classic for ps4 uses its own emulator, so it's tailored to that game specifically. we have to make due with those emulators.
