Just got a 42"plasma and when I boot Biohazard0 (JAP) and SMG (US NTSE) both from USB, they look awsome and yet when I boot the PAL versions, they blurred and pale?

Well it's a PAL plasma and the blurred image is pretty much the same on everyone elses plasma that Ive seen on other sets. Its just odd that the NTSE games are so clear??????

As for my Plasma being shit, how would you know.... have you seen it?

It's because your Plasma is shit and can't handle PAL the right way.

damn whats up the hostility, you sound like someone shit in your oatmeal. Dont be mad cause he has a nice plasma.

Badly setup TV, as PAL is higher res than NTSC and should look sharper. NTSC is traditionally more blurry than PAL.

NTSC = 60 Hz == 60 fps processed, 30 out
PAL = 50 Hz == 50 fps processed, 25 out

Often plasma screens are susceptible for blurry images. Blurry images result from to low framerates. Normally to low framerates are circumvent by interpolating to images to get an picture between those. So that's what a Plasma TV (maybe LCD as well) do. The difference between interpolating from 25 respectively 30 fps may result in a difference, which is noticable by human. Newer Plasma screens should still be able to avoid bluring by software...

However as a rule of thumb: the bigger your screen is, the more vulnerable it is for blurring.
So if it's real "blur", that might be your answer.

I hope I explained it the right way.

I agree, this place seems to be coming more and more hostile. Is there a shortage of weed or something?

I totally agree with Det1re, but i also think the cheaper the tv, the more blur you get with 576i.

Anyways, why don't you compare PAL60(PAL480i/p) with NTSC? There shouldn't be that much of a difference, if there's a difference at all.

use the thx optimizer than tweak the settings a bit that's what i did on my 60" PAL plasma and every game i play on it looks perfect

Seariously guys - there is a vast difference between PAL and NTSC games. Oh and I am booting these via Channels/USB/HDD?

I already did the THX optimizer from the Cars movie
