A couple of reasons, really. For starters, it gives me a way to contribute and give something back to the scene that I've followed and enjoyed for a long time - even just knowing my tools or news posts are appreciated by someone out there is more than enough for me. Secondly, I've met some nice people here :P

I like GBAtemp for the people in here.
Many have become good friends over the time, and the tight knit community feel is pretty strong in here.
Not in many places I could see familiar faces and feel at home.

Honestly, I enjoy the Temp because I love hacking and modify my electronics. I also enjoy honing these skills, while teaching others by sharing the knowledge I gather over time. I really don't get to share much of my knowledge and skills in real life and most of the time when I do it's just because someone wants "free gaemz" and really aren't interested in what goes into getting them set up for those free games. It's actually kind of lonely at times and the Temp tends to fill the void created in the desire to educate others.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
also gonna install twilight menu in my r4 flashcard
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
