Gaming Why do I only have 19 Heart Containers?

Just finished Ocarina of Time 3DS. I got all the heart pieces but I only have 19 heart containers. I figured the last heart container would be a reward for beating Ganondorf. I am 100% sure I acquired all the heart pieces as I followed a guide step by step to get them.

What can I do to find out where this last container is?

I have the very same problem!
I have 19 + 3/4 of the last heart and I looked up all the heart locations on the internet and am sure I got all of them. I followed the list and searched for the final one for more than an hour before I gave up. It's either a lame bug or I did really miss one, but I checked almost all locations... Even caught a new big fish as a kid and tried all the minigames and the grave chase.
I don't think I forgot a boss container...

heat6jones: Do you have 0/4 or 3/4 pieces on the last one? If you have 0/4 then you probably missed a boss container

First thing i did when i started playing OoT 3D was leave the deku tree without the heart container... i realised just as i left that i missed it and had to run back to it ¬_¬

But as others have said, are you missing an entire container or just a (couple) of piece(s)? It would narrow it down.

Just a warning ahead of time.

Last time I forgot something like this in a video game, it was right in front of my nose, but I looked everywhere, except in the most obvious and logical spots in my panic.

Course, it could be that all the heart pieces/containers are in locations that you never would think to look in. I honestly haven't played OOT in a very long time (Still have my Collectors Edition GCN copy, and it works flawlessly btw)

There is no way I missed four heart pieces unless the guide I used left out four heart pieces. I suppose I'll go back to all the dungeons to see if there is a heart container lying around.

I wish the game had better in game ways to check for skulltulas and hearts. It's easy to miss so much.

Okay, you got the Golden Scale, right?

Have you gone to the Lakeside Laboratory, and dived down all the way to the bottom inside of it? That's ALWAYS the Heart Piece I miss.

And did you catch the big fish as both Adult and Young Link?

I have 0/4.

Then you missed one, did you get it from twinrova.

It's likely that you missed a whole container from a boss, since you kinda go to them automatically and aren't actually looking for them. It's just a matter of losing some concentration.

The one from Twinrova is the one I find more likely to miss, since it's not right next to the warp thingy.

Guys, you all stop worrying. The missing heart container has been found. It was in the Forest Temple boss room.

Oh, if you have 0/4 Heart Pieces, then that means you missed a whole Heart Container.

I actually missed the one on Phantom Ganon, but you might have missed it on anything else. I'd recommend trying Twinrova as well, as the Heart Container in that boss fight was really out of the way.

I have some missable ones, I just freshly got all 20 Heart (36 pieces) today.

- Grave digging tour, with Young Link you go to Dampe and he is out strolling around the Graveyard, you pay him 20 Rupees to dig each damp soil.
- In the Graveyard, one of the holes takes you down to a room with an enemy, those weird brown ones, forgot name...after you kill it, you'll notice symbols on the wall behind him, play the Sun's Song.
- Treasure chest minigame?
- Find the dog for the old lady as Young Link. At Hyrule Market.

Funner than looking for heart pieces blindly. Not sure how they would work out. You might never finish.

There are only a couple tricky heart pieces. OoT doesn't really make them that hard to find.
