OK so our Internet (Virgin Media UK) got cut off because the bill's bloody £200!!! Now I admit that the whole house uses Internet a lot and I don't really know who is the suspect... So can you please order the following with the top being the bandwidth hogger:

- Daily watching of online TV/movies via a laptop
- Xbox 360 gaming
- PS3 gaming
- Normal student surfing ( going to uni website and other websites for research, FB, Youtube, MSN, etc.)
- Downloading software ( Had to fix 3 PCs so Windows updating is involvef, DLin huge software such as iTunes, Netbeans, etc.)

Remember that these things have been done within a span of 2 months.

Thanks.

What the... What kind of plan are you on to get a £200 bill?! I get the XL TV package, unlimited XL broadband (forget the official speed but I can download at up to 3000k/sec) and landline phone for about £60 a month all in, sounds like you need to change to a plan that doesn't bill you for every xxx amount you go over a limit.

The online TV/Movies is definately the big one. If the Xbox/PS gaming involves regularly downloading demos then that will be a close second. I would say two months of web use would add up to more than a few one-off downloads.

Sounds like you need an unlimited connection.
Any big downloads will suck up a lot of bandwidth. Online videos, Xbox games etc. If you just mean gaming on XBL that won't be a huge hog though I'm not sure how much it will actually use.

You just want them in order?
K.
Number one is watching movies and TV online.
2 is downloading stuff if you guys do it constantly especially torrents and what not.
3 Online Video games (PS3 and Xbox = pretty much the same)
4 Surfing

If you are on a limited broadband connection, say 40gb per month, then it would get eaten up by:

1. Online Movies/TV
2. Xbox 360/PS3 (Depending on what you do eg; Downloading games...)
3. Software Downloads
4. General Surfing...

Also your computer could use up the bandwidth in the background, even when your not using the any internet enabled software/hardware eg; Windows Live Messenger, Windows Updates, etc...
