ROM Hack Which size is the right rom?

Hello there guys, kinda new here, and I'm in fact kind of ashamed to ask this...but anyway...

I've been browsing the net and come across some roms... like for example Pokemon Diamond. But the problem is, the sizes all vary from 17 mb to 64 mb and even more...

so what I want to ask is, do all these roms of different sizes work or are there some factors that vary like compatibility issues and features?

well from what i can gather the untrimmed version of pokemon diamond is 64mb not sure what it is trimmed.

I trimmed it and it was around 57-58 MB.

Nope, and it works both trimmed and untrimmed for me. I shouldn't trim it if I were you (only if you REALLY need those 7-8 MB's of space)

i suppose when when you add up roughly 30 games at 3 or 4 mb additionally it adds up but i'd rather not risk messing the game up.

I don't think you can even mess the game up if you use the right trimmer, but I don't guarantee it.

Oh...so that means the untrimmed ones are safer eh? Ok thanks.... One more thing though, for some other games, how can you tell if it is trimmed or not?

Check the size, 8,16,32,64,128 mb = not trimmed

I trimmed MPH for half a meg.
