Alright, I figured this question would fit best in this area.

I have 2 choices. a PS3 or PC. This is what they entail.

PS3: 2 controllers, 80 gig HD, 3 games, probably split the hard drive and use with Linux

PC: $500 computer, $100 video card, Dual core, 1 gig of RAM, Basically plays anything out now and for the next while.

Thoughts?

Well its really weather you want to play ps3 games or pc games but if you choose the pc i would try getting another gig of ram in it then your prolly set for a long time.

If i had to choose i prolly go with the ps3 since i would rather play ps3 games then pc games

Depends on the kind of games you go for. PC is fairly exclusive in RTSes and most western RPGs, and is also where most of the FPSes go. PS3 you'd get the genres you'd expect on a console.

You want our opinions?

I'd be all over the PC.
There's so much more that can be done with a PC.
Holy crap I forgot.
PC Has way more applications and Games that are so kickass.
It has good graphics though.
Judge somthing by its heart, not by looks. Specific Enough.

Thanks for the opinions, its really helped.

I think I'm leaning towards the PS3, I like the games for it a bit more. Also, any game I could think of is either out for Linux and/or Ps3 as well or will be.

I agree more mem for PC & go with a Quad Core if you can. Whenever I buy a PC I always go with the maximum I can afford. Remember, 'The PC can be what you want it to be and is only limited by your imagination'. A PS3 is solely for games.

Go with a PS3 if there is something in particular you are looking for, Little Big Planet, MGS4, Valkyria Chronicles, Drake, Killzone 2 etc.. Whatever tickles your fancy.
