I had good luck finding a used 2000. I just went to a Gamestop and asked to check some out, the second one I looked at was a black one running 3.8 and turned out to be fully hackable. Runs like a charm and seems to be in great shape (it's probably a good sign if they never bothered to update the firmware in the first place).

I'm also curious if I should keep my fat black 1001 which is on CFW m33-6 or trade it for a red 2000 slim God of War, which I believe can be hacked. Everything is working fine for me right now, but the slim might be even BETTER.

but the amount you can do with a red slim is greater then a PHAT.
that can be highly disputed since a ton of apps use the 1.50 kernel cannot be used on the psp slim
some of them upgraded but there are still alot of good apps and such that stayed with 1.50 or were never updated

though there is no 1.50 kernel for GEN B-2 (they never made one)
so 5.00 M33-6 is the firmware that can have it right now

This concerns me however and has me wondering if it's worth it to switch. Will my GBA emulator and stuff run just as smooth on a slim?

I have an emu too!

Now then, I'm sure all the red (GoW) 2000s are hackable, and I got a silver slim from someone on Kijiji and it worked. Mind you, I tried to fix it (speakers blown and UMD door scratched) and I ended up screwing up the UMD Door. Now it only opens and closes, UMD's don't work... looks like I'm saving my money to buy a red GoW slim off of some kid for $130 or so with a firmware below or at 5.03.
