I want to play Gameboy, GBC, and GBA games on my 3DS. Please tell me what are the best emulators to use on each system.

Gameyob DSi and mGBA are both pretty accurate for GB/C emulation and a little more flexible than injection in terms of save states or scaling, especially if you want to pick from truckloads of ROMs rather than injecting one by one.

mGBA is the most stable/compatible GBA emulator but most games need to run 30 FPS (frameskip=1) to avoid slowdown on a N3DS. GBA Injection gives near perfect speed/compatibility because it runs the CPU natively like a DS phat/lite playing slot 2 carts, although you won't have save states, and any cheats need to be inserted into the ROM itself.

It works by injecting a ROM into the VC emulator (horrible explanation) and it does work with games that weren't originally released in VC.

Those aren't really that reliable anymore unfortunately and (at least for me and some others) don't even work properly sometimes. A much better option to recommend is this:

As for the OP, use one I linked and think of it like this: Do you want to play the games like they would be played on native firmware? If so, use injects. Do you want to play the games with emulator functions? If so, use an emulator.

Personally, I find injects to be the most reliable method as I don't ever care about save states or cheats in old games.
