Just because it's not in production doesn't mean you can't get it. I just got a DSTwo from a member here on GBAtemp. You really can't get over the description? I think that comment was uncalled for.

Good for you, but most people that actually own one aren't likely to sell it. And, the description was good, it's just that you went to the effort to write it when you can't buy it new. I wasn't insulting you.

Now for real info:
1) There is no original R4i cards, all of them are clones. R4i Gold 3DS just has official wood support, but other manufacturers have hacked that version to work on their cards a very long time ago.
2) R4 SDHC Dual-Core 2015 will work just fine, it won't need any additional support since DS games are not released anymore.
3) You will never have to update it, DS flashcards are not blocked anymore.
4) Don't bother with DSTWO unless you want crappy snes/gba emulators.
5) The only real difference between R4i Gold and R4i Dual-Core is RTS support on Gold but its not very good.

EDIT: 5 depends on Dual-Core version, there are 2 types of them...one uses Wood menu and other uses TTmenu which will have RTS and it'll be much better than Gold version of RTS.
1) Right, but I think that most manufactures don't have hacked the latest version and hacked versions don't have features like Real Time Save.
2) Yes but R4i Gold 3DS will work well, too.
3) Right.
4) The Emulators of DSTWO aren't really crappy for the average user. Who is really bothered by some almost not noticeable framerate drops?
5) The Dual-Core has RTS as well (as you EDITED) but it's RTS is real crap with a very low compatibility. In addition to that, The Dual-Core's menu is extremly slow and it has some stupid features ("Energy Saver" which turns your screen off after some seconds) as well as just 4 skins or something like that (might have been 6). It just feels like crap.

Before you judge me: I have all of the cards: R4i Gold 3DS, DSTWO, Ace3DS+, R4i SDHC Dual-Core 2014 (it's the same like 2015) and Gamecard 3D (uses hacked wood like the Ace3DS+).

Between R4i Gold, R4i SDHC, Ace3DS+ which of those three do you recommend?

I say have faith in the homebrew scene. They will surpass the spectre of DSTWO. Especially on New 3DS if more processing power can be utilized.
What is the difference between HOMEBREW and a FLASHCARD?
Can't Homebrew brick your device if Nintendo finds out?

Also if I have a r4igold is it possible to use homebrew apps on the latest Wood Kernel?

A flashcart is a device that lets you play game backups and homebrew

Game backups are roms

Homebrew are applications made by other people. They usually are games and emulators. Hence the name Home and Brew. Home as in made at home and brew as in brewing (like beer). Because people are making the applications at home.

R4i Gold. It has the best/ most features. R4i SDHC's UI is extremely slow and the Ace3DS+ uses a hacked version of the R4i Gold's firmware.

A flashcard is a physical device that contains a flash chip to store files. Even an SD card can be called "flashcard". Homebrew are applications written by independend developers in their spare time.
Nintendo isn't allowed to brick your device when using Homebrew/ Flashcards (at least not in Europe). But they can ban consoles from the online services and they already did that.

Sure. The Wood kernel can play almost all homebrews.

On another note.

What is the best source on the Internet to find the best emulators and apps for the r4i Gold?
I am running the latest WOOD Kernel.

I would've bought the DSTWO or DSTWO Plus but I can't seem to find an online retailer that sells them.

DSTwoPlus will be out soon. The only reason you can't get DSTwo right now is they are pulling stock for the new DSTwoPlus.

So yeah... REAL soon.

Bet it comes out before Gateway updates emunand or finds 9.5 exploit (unlike some geniuses on this forum which we shall not name because THEY ARE GODS ;) )

So sit on your money and use what you have. Then rejoice when DSTwoPlus comes out. Rumor has it that it might also work with N3DS and fix some save glitches on 9.2+ sysNAND.

-RUMORS- as in old lady gossip that spills over these forums like syrup on pancakes.

Mmmm... pancakes...

Dstwo+ should have been released in Feb or late Jan. Still nothing.
Also, it will VERY likely be 60$+ since it will support 3ds games too.
So getting r4i gold for 10 bucks is really a no brainer if you ask me
