What is the preferred chip to install?

Also, could someone please tell me the other parts I will need.. exact specs of soldering iron etc.

Many Many Thanks.

Well if it's a launch day Wii, you've got a lot of options. I'd be looking at yaosm. It's an open source chip where the programming is flashed to a PIC. Bell, who does the programming seems dedicated to the project and there hasn't been any complaints so far. For info, try http://wiinewz.com/forums/yaosm/.

You could try the Wiikey. It does do the job, yet there are reports that they won't be updating it anymore.

Also, if you aren't good with soldering and don't want to pay to get it done, try getting a Wii-Clip version that suits you. www.wii-clip.com

Or get Cyclowiz which works 100% fine and supports opensource firmware(Currently only Yaosm and Freewii are ported)
