Rosetta Stone is one of the best ways to learn any language, pick it up at the nearest torrent site

Have you used it before? I have Rosetta Stone French sitting on my HDD but haven't installed it because I don't know how well I'm gonna like it

I heard if you watch enough anime you learn it without thinking about it

Is that with out without the English subs?
With them, obviously, otherwise you'd be totally lost and not know a thing.
I heard the English dub works the best
Yeah but with dub, how would you know how to say it in Japanese? Unless I'm thinking of it the wrong way. :/

That's right, sarcasm doesn't work on the internet. And also, anime won't teach you Japanese.

You should seriously take up some night classes. Its pointless to try and teach yourself since only a few people are capable of that. And those wouldn't be asking around on a gamers forum would they?

I learnt almost fluent classic arabic in the 2 years that I've been here and even though I'm in egypt, they don't speak classic arabic so I guess I could have learnt it anywhere equally as well. Make sure your teacher teaches in the language you're trying to learn. You'll be lost at first but you'll get used to it and it will give a huge boost to your speaking and comprehension ability in the long run.

On your DS?

There's Japanese Training, a great homebrew that can teach you Hiragana and Katakana, and some Kanji too, if not all of them

There's My Japanese Coach coming soon to improve your Japanese
