Hacking What would be best mod for me ??

I don't care to play online, I need a reliable easy mod/hack that will allow me to play WII-U and original Wii backups too.

By the way whatever hack is suggested to me do they run single ISO's files ? I ask cause I've seen some WII-U games that were not ISO format it was a folder with a bunch of small files in it.

I have the black 32GB Wii-U bought last year in November, that's the last time I played also and I connected to the internet with it and pretty sure I downloaded a update too, so I probably got the 5.5.1 from what I've read around the forums. By the way is 5.5.1 the latest FW ?

I'd recommend haxchi, and they use wads

I just watched a YouTube video dam there seems to be a lot of steps, it doesn't even say to use a SD card or USB or how to play a backup. Are you sure this is the best method for me ?

Then, no offense, but hacking your Wii U is not for you. Ask someone more tech savvy to do it for you following Kafluke's guide or Felek's. I'm serious. Don't follow a youtube guide, and don't attempt it yourself, if you don't feel confident.

Those are parts. Open one of them with WinRAR, and extract the contents.

Not necessarily, could be in installable format.

They don't use WADs, those are for Wii and vWii only.

You want someone to hold your hand and give you step by step instructions when we've already typed out step by step.

There is not a one size fits all hack for Wii U. You need to study, research all options and then make an informed decision. If you follow blindly some YouTube guide you will most definitely be dealing with a bricked Wii U down the road and then be here asking us for help to fix.

If you don't want to take the time to actually read up on what you are doing then just pay someone to do it for you.

Anybody here from central Ohio. I soft modded my original Xbox it was like 3 mins and done, one file. If it's going to take more than that and a bunch of time to read stuff then no thanks. But I'm serious I'd pay someone to do it for me and show me how to play backups of WiiU and Wii games.

hacking the wii u isn't too bad. don't install cbhc unless u know what you're doing though. I agree, haxchi sounds like the best solution for you along with hacking the virtual wii. I hacked the virtual wii using the smash stack method, but you can do it with wup hax. I wouldn't pay someone for this especially when it's as easy as it is. good luck

I understand that once the hack is in place I'm ready to go, but where do I put the game image on a SD or USB thumb drive ?

1. haxchi is for the wii u side of the system. the virtual wii will be hacked in a different way.
2. haxchi is region free
3. they'll be in installable format .app/.h3. u install games that way. loadiine uses decrypted .app/.h3 files. the wii u does too, but u have to install them in order to get them to appear on the home menu.
4. u put the game on a usb drive when u install them or on the internal flash of the system. loadiine can read games from an sd card, but the wii u can't. nintendont on the virtual wii can also read from an sd card. I think one or two backup managers can as well, but I'm not 100% certain of that.

Yes, you just need to launch Haxchi'd game everytime you want to play out-of-region games.
You install them to Wii U menu using Wup Installer GX2/Mod Y. Those are in encrypted format [.h3, .app etc.]
Use Wii U USB Helper and it's Copy to SD option. It will do everything for you. Only on SDCard.
